What Is A Remanufactured Engine?

Engine Remanufacturing

A remanufactured engine is a used engine which has been returned to new condition by remachining the worn surfaces of major parts and the fitting of new components. You gain the advantages of a new engine but without the expense of a brand new engine.
The planet benefits from the recycling of major engine parts. Much less energy is used to remanufacture an engine than to produce a new one.

These are some of the processes which we put an engine through on it's way to becoming a reliable power source for you:

• dismantling and preliminary inspection
• chemical cleaning
• check parts for wear to determine machining processes & parts replacement required
• crack testing of major components
• cylinder bores machined oversize (rebored) or new cylinder liners fitted
• cylinder block deck machined
• main bearing tunnels checked & machined if nescessary (linebored)
• crankshaft reground if nescessary
• con rod tunnels checked, new bushes fitted, alignment checked
• camshaft reground or replaced
• camfollowers refaced or new ones fitted
• cylinder head gasket face machined
• valve guides replaced
• valves refaced or replaced
• valve seats refaced
• valve springs checked & replaced as necessary
• oil pump overhauled or replaced
• a through final clean of all parts
• engine clearances are checked
• engine is assembled with new pistons & rings, new crankshaft bearings, gaskets & seals
• documentation is completed- installation check sheet, build sheet, warranty card.

We offer a standard 1 year or 20,000km warranty on our engines, or a 3 year/100,000 km warranty for engines with scheduled servicing (conditions apply).
